In 2021, Lamborghini announced the Aventador swan song: the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae. With 780 metric horsepower and a 6.5-liter V12, it was the purest distillation of everything the Aventador had stood for. The Roadster version made the experience even more visceral: open skies above, thunder from behind, and a design sculpted like a farewell letter in carbon fiber. Only 250 were destined for production, making it as rare as it was fierce.

Fate intervened when some Ultimae Roadsters were lost at sea during the sinking of the Felicity Ace, forcing Lamborghini to build replacements so every promised car could reach its owner. In July 2022, the very last Aventador ever built—a Roadster Ultimae—rolled out of Sant’Agata Bolognese. It wasn’t just another supercar leaving the factory; it was the end of an era. The final roar of a pure, unassisted V12 before Lamborghini turned toward a hybrid future.
